BCP aims & objective

Our aims……

• To make ‘enjoy and achieve’ (from ‘Every Child Matters’) the centre of what we do.
• To ensure that all activities make child safety and protection the highest priority.
• To focus on the development of the whole child - their physical, social, spiritual and emotional growth.

Objectives

• To help make Broadfield & Bewbush a better place for children to live by offering free or cheap after school, weekend and holiday activities to the children of the area.
• To encourage and promote the children’s voice in decision making procedures by including children on the management committee of the project.
• To incrementally empower local teenagers so they can become leaders in children’s work by using teenagers initially as helpers in groups then training them so that they can take up leadership roles.
• To aid in deprivation prevention by involving local children in projects which benefit the community.
• To offer opportunities for parents to participate in activities along with their children by offering activities where parents and children take part together (such as Saturday morning football and craft days).
• To incrementally empower local adults so they can become leaders in children’s work by including local adults on our management committee and using them as helpers / leaders in groups. We will also offer training in various areas of children’s work to meet this objective.
• To promote social inclusion and community enhancement by ensuring all aspects of the project are socially inclusive – from the management committee to the groups that actually meet.
• To promote a healthy lifestyle by offering healthy meals at our midweek after school club and using sports and games as a key component of our activities.

We believe in working in partnership with schools and other statutory and voluntary agencies to offer children in Broadfield the best opportunity for a healthy, safe and enjoyable childhood.
